This month at The Outdoors School, our learners have been combining physical fitness with a little bit of fundraising and awareness as they get involved with Cancer Research’s ‘Walk All Over Cancer’.  Two of our learners at Shillingford took some time out of their week to write us a post about it so we could find out more…

We are supporting Walk All Over Cancer this month by setting ourselves targets to walk a certain amount of steps. We had to work out how many steps we would normally do and set ourselves a target to work to. When we got to assembly we were given our pedometers. Some of us clipped it to our boots and pockets. Our aim was to walk 1 mile a day. We started on the 5th March 2021. To meet our target we have to walk 2000 steps. If we all meet our targets the school will donate to Walk All Over Cancer. The money will be donated to cancer research. The cancer research association was founded in 1902.
