Fantastic and fun alternative education provision for Home Educating families in Exeter, Exmouth and Okehampton, Devon.

Aimed at children over 6 years old, our Home Education Groups are a great opportunity for children to embark upon a programme of exciting forest school activities that develop practical skills, creativity, confidence and teamwork. Children are encouraged to make their own decisions and judgements and work together as part of a group in a relaxed, outdoor environment. Our experienced forest school leaders are on hand to guide children through a variety of activities and challenges but they also empower children to use their own ideas and, of course, give them the space and freedom to play.

Does your child struggle to integrate in a group

If thriving in a group environment doesn’t come naturally to your child then we have created a group specifically for neuro-diverse children which aims to help them transition into the forest school environment.

Each of our Forest Schools has it’s own beautiful landscape and personality. Here’s what Home Ed looks like at each of our sites:

Forest School
A spontaneous and exciting group where the children are guided through their own learning desires and given as much autonomy as possible. Whether playing team games, stomping around the Organic Farm or exploring what lives in the stream, children have a dynamic learning experience.
Run by Chris White, Manager of Exeter Forest School

Forest School

Our sessions give children the chance to thrive as part of a group in a relaxed environment, embarking upon challenges and games, learning new skills, developing socially and emotionally along the way. We encourage child-led play, allowing them to simply be in the woods with no pressure to fulfil any agenda other than their own. We feel this is as important a part of forest school as any other aspect.
Run by Nick Murphy, Manager of Exmouth Forest School

Forest School

Children will have opportunities to play team games to encourage co-operation and team spirit, to explore and play in the woodland and make new friendships within their peer group. Children are encouraged to come up with ideas for activities and take it in turns to deliver as leaders in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to develop good listening and communication skills.
Run by Debbie Miller, Manager of Okehampton Forest School
