Nestled in the hills, just outside Totnes in the village of Broadhempston is The Outdoors Group’s newest site, Totnes Forest School.
We’ll be offering a number of fun groups and activities for the local community, including our Tree Tots Toddler Groups for parents and little ones and Home Education groups for children aged 5 (from the September after their 5th birthday) and up. We want to get as many children as possible into the woods to play, explore, discover and learn.
Sarah Webb will be looking after our Totnes site. She’s worked in Forest Schools for many years and for the last 18 months has been working as part of our Transitional Learning Programme. She has two boys who she loves to get outside with as much as possible.
Of the new site she says….
“I look forward to becoming site manager for The Totnes Forest School. I am passionate about outdoor learning and the need for children of all ages to connect and discover nature and the outdoors through creative, physical and exciting activities. Totnes Forest School is a wonderful diverse site which I have had the privilege of working on with children on since 2014.”
Sarah has a background in Nursing and Social work. She is passionate about the positive effects of being and connecting with nature has on people’s well-being . When moving to Devon 10 years ago she had the privilege of working with some children in a forest school/ beach school environment and absolutely loved it. She completed her beach school qualification and is currently doing her forest school training.
Sarah works part time for the outdoors group and also works as a rewilding guide and a massage therapist. Outside of work Sarah loves to wild swim all year round and loves being a mum and going on adventures with her boys.
