The Outdoors Group are proud to open Okehampton’s first Forest School set in a beautiful semi ancient woodland, a short walk from the town centre.
We’ll be offering a number of fun groups and activities for the local community, including our Tree Tots Toddler Groups for parents and little ones and Home Education groups for children aged 6 and up. We want to get as many children as possible into the woods to play, explore, discover and learn.
Debbie Miller will be looking after our Okehampton site. She’s lived in Okehampton since 1990 with her husband, Ian. She has grown up children now in their twenties.
Debbie has worked as a childminder for more than 22 years. Over the years, she’s been a Brownie Guide Leader, a play leader at local toddler groups and a governor of the local primary.
“I’m passionate about children playing and exploring outdoors and want to give them the opportunities to develop their confidence, independence, creativity and risk taking, appropriate to their environment and to themselves.”
For an alternative take on education, join one of our Home Education Groups every Wednesday during term time.
Termly outdoor parent and toddler groups on Mondays and Thursdays, full of fun and games for little adventurers.
Need some childcare in the school holidays? Sign your children up for a Forest School adventure. Our clubs run from 10am-4pm on selected days.
