Take a weekend off and treat yourself to a grounding Autumnal retreat with The Outdoors Group.
Autumn is a time of transition—and transformation. The shift in seasons is nature’s way of reminding you to pay attention! It seems obvious that you adjust your outer life to accommodate the changing weather, but it’s easy to forget the shift that is necessary for the inner self when seasons change.
Just as the trees let go of their leaves, we will also be focusing on letting go of what is no longer serving us. The second part of the weekend we will start to focus on manifesting what we truly want for the future and what really matters to you…all in a fun, relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. You will feel leaving relaxed, energised and inspired!
Deepen your practice, nourish your body with delicious food, meet beautiful people and discover new possibilities on this 4 Day weekend retreat at the beautiful Bala Brook retreat centre in South Devon, in the foothills of Dartmoor. Run by two of our experienced and friendly members of staff you’ll be able to tap into Katie’s incredible skill as a yoga teacher and Hannah’s passion for the outdoors. The group size will be kept small so that we can hold a space that allows you to unwind and recharge your batteries before returning to normal life.
The Yoga
Each Yoga session will be different and will include meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), postures and relaxation. We will also explore Yin / Yang Yoga, Dynamic Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra taught over 9 hours. All the sessions will be suitable for beginners and modifications and alternatives will be provided where necessary. Yoga is non-competitive and our classes are taught in an unpretentious and friendly atmosphere.
Bushcraft and Wilderness Activities
There will be some time each day to allow you to fully immerse yourself in nature and you will have the opportunity to take part in:
Food
Fresh, seasonal and locally produced vegetarian catering provided and served (dietary requirements will be catered for)
Your package will include brunch and main evening meal. Tea / Coffee, fresh fruit and homemade cakes will be available throughout the day.
Katie Hawley
Marketing Manager & Yoga Teacher
Katie set up and established YogaBhoga in June 2014 and has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. She decided to become a Yoga Teacher shortly after the birth of her daughter Florence.
She wanted to have more work / life flexibility and to do something that she loved and as they say, the rest is history. She completed her Yoga Teacher Training (500hr) with the Devon School of Yoga whilst on maternity leave. She has been lucky enough to attend retreats and courses all over the world.
Katie was holistically trained which means she draws from many different styles. However her main style of teaching is Vinyasa Flow.
Katie has developed a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge (which is always growing – yoga is a never ending subject!) and aims for that to come across in her classes. She firmly believes that life is about balance and that yoga helps you find that balance.
Joey Daley
Vegetarian cook & qualified cook and NLP therapist
Joey Daley runs JoJo’s, a wholefood catering business. Joey spent ten years working in social care with young people with a focus on holistic wellbeing centred around diet, exercise and lifestyle. She then ran The Sanctuary Cafe in London for two and a half years before moving down to Devon with her partner Joel and their dog Murray. With a background in social care she takes a creative, and holistic approach to supporting people to focus on the changes they can make, to achieve sustainable growth in their day-to-day lives. Jo believes that we all have the power within us to manifest our true selves, and with the right teaching and support we can awaken this power through daily practise.
“Absolutely loved the weekend, the food was lovely, well timed and never hungry or too full! The location was beautiful and had everything you needed. We got amazing unexpected extras with the Japanese meditation and the capoeira, it made it so much more special! And of course the yoga, Katie did an incredible job of bringing everyone together to feel comfortable and it was accessible for everyone, the perfect balance of exercise and spirituality. We got lucky I think with an awesome group…can’t wait for more!”
