We ran a very successful team building day for the NHS team from Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. The brief was to bring the team together to make them function better as a unit, we had a large group of consultants, doctors, surgeons, nurses and support staff. Throughout the day they had the opportunity to work with smaller groups of people they did not usually work with to help them bond as a larger team. The day was a lot of fun and the group really pulled together. By the time we did a debrief (over cakes and coffee) the group were relaxed enough together to start opening up about the divisions and issues within the team, they reflected honestly and openly and started the process of creating a cohesive team.
By having the common shared experience of team building and having collaborated successfully to complete the day, the foundations for future growth were laid and they left positive about continuing the good work in the future.
Key aspects of the day included
- Communication games
- Problem solving activities
- Campfire cooking
- Fire lighting
- Shelter building
