Management and Admin Team

Meet our management and admin team. Each Team member at The Outdoors Group is hand picked, for their love, passion and respect for the great outdoors, their understanding of the Forest School ethos and creating a positive, happy and fun environment to learn.

Shevek Pring
Director

Shevek is one of our founders and has been working in the outdoor education sector for many years as an instructor and team leader. He has been running residentials, day courses, accredited courses and expeditions for several years. In his spare time, he likes to cycle, adventure up mountains and spend time with his boys.

Tom Lowday
Director

Tom is one of our founders. He studied FDg Environmental Education and since then has worked in land based industries promoting sustainable land management and conservation in both farming and forestry. When he’s not working, Tom can be found traipsing across the moors, hanging out with his boys or baking beautiful sourdough loaves!

Arwen King
Company Secretary & Business Services Manager

From our very first open day in 2011, Arwen has been involved with us. After 18 years working for Devon County Council, she took the plunge and joined The Outdoors Group. As Company Secretary Arwen makes sure that all our cogs remain oiled and running smoothly. In her spare time, she likes to spend time outdoors, cook delicious meals, Morris dance when she gets a chance and is on a mission to have the most impeccably designed and organised house you’ve ever seen!

Robyn Vincent
The Outdoors School Headteacher

Robyn’s role at the school is to look after our learners’ individual requirements and their pastoral welfare. She’s been an English teacher for over 20 years and has worked in Special Schools for the last 11. She loves the new Outdoors School because it is so different and allows children to be children with the flexibility to learn in the way that best suits them.
Robyn loves anything to do with music, dancing and singing. She reads a lot and loves to cook.

Jon Breeze
The Outdoors School Deputy Headteacher

Jon has worked as a lead in welfare, pastoral care, and behaviour as a senior member of staff in secondary schools for the past twelve years. I am passionate about giving the best opportunity’s for all children and young people to achieve in life, no matter what challenges life throws at them. Originally from the Midlands moved to Devon in 2014. I’m a primary school governor, where my children attend, I’m also a leader at my local church and a massive rugby fan!

Paula Wilkins
The Outdoors School SENDCO

P has worked as SENDCo as a senior member of staff in mainstream schools for 6 years. As a result she strongly believes that all learners can succeed when provided with the right tasks, support and understanding. In her spare time P likes to spend time with her family and friends, walking and playing with her 2 Therapy dogs Mr Darcy and Bingley, and cooking, reading and playing her saxophone.

Nick Murphy
Forest Schools Manager & Exmouth Forest School Manager

Nick is our Forest Schools Manager, overseeing all of our Forest School provision, as well as managing Exmouth Forest School. Also known for his excellent ukulele and spoon carving skills, Nick works hard to bring magic into the forest for children and parents, encouraging them to get involved in activities and inspiring them to use their imaginations.

Amanda Leach
Manager of Transitional Learning Programme (Outdoor Learning Intervention)

Amanda has been working in the education system for about ten years both in America and England as well as directing outdoor adventure activities at summer camps in America. She enjoys bringing her passion for supporting diverse learners to the outdoors. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing and walking her dog in the countryside.

Annabelle Milverton
Manager - Adult Provision

Annie completed her Forest School Leader training with us back in 2017 and has worked with us ever since. Annie’s background in Primary education and Psychology gives her a unique take on the training courses she runs. Annie is an enthusiastic team member who believes passionately in outdoor education and experience for all.

Rob Kendle
Estates Manager

Rob’s background has seen him working in a range of educational settings helping to develop, create and maintain beautiful and safe learning spaces. In this role as Estate’s Manager this can mean everything from managing the woodland to designing and installing new structures and everything in between. Rob has a strong passion for the virtues of a beautifully designed compost toilet and has built several in the past. Pastimes include, building stuff on wheels, family, outdoor life, mackerel fishing and food.

Tally White
ADULT PROVISION COORDINATOR AND TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Tally’s role in the training team is to design and deliver high quality adult training courses and qualifications. Tally was a Forest School Leader and Teacher in Early Years and Primary education for ten years before making the change to adult learning. Also a part-time silversmith, sea glass addict and coast path runner she brings her passion for the outdoors and developing creativity to her role with us.

Katie Hawley
Katie Hawley
Marketing Manager

Katie has a background in both corporate and SME marketing and events and has worked in Australia, Dubai and Singapore.At the weekends she enjoys spending time with her Daughter and cockerpoo, Pip and loves being at the beach, walking, cross fit, cooking and drinking red wine! Katie works part time for The Outdoors Group and is also a qualified Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher. You will also see Katie running the Team Building activities and Outdoor Experience Days.

Nicci Hudson
Finance Manager

Nicci is our finance manager with over 20 years experience in finance and operations. She has previously owned and run a successful travel business and has many years experience working in the private sector. Nicci enjoys spending time with her teenage daughter, long walks on the beach and plans to start cycling to work more often!

Keren Basford
HR Officer

Keren is our HR Officer and comes with 12 years of experience, working in the Military and the Public Sector. She can usually be found in our Exeter based office, with a hot coffee in hand. She spends her weekends exploring Dartmoor with her family, and searching out the best cream tea.

Pete Morgan
Facilities & Procurement Officer

Peter is here to ensure that everyone has the equipment and supplies to do their role, from booking minibuses to buying marshmallows. Peter is a chartered environmentalist and has joined us after working for nearly 12 years at Paignton Zoo on sustainability and environmental issues as their environmental officer. Pete enjoys fixing things, cheese and camping and canoeing with his family

Pete Shepherd
Welfare Officer

Pete’s passion to create led him to be a carpenter then a minister in the church. In more recent years Pete retrained as a Counsellor and Specialist Mentor working with young people and adults within education to create and support physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Pete believes passionately everyone should be given the opportunity to live life to the full and with unbridled imagination push back the boundaries of what’s possible. In his spare time Pete loves creating, walking, talking, exploring, and following Southampton Football Club.

Hannah Durdin
Marketing & Adult Provision Administrator

Hannah supports the Adult Provision team with all their administrative needs as well as supporting marketing with copywriting and social media. She’s also a Forest School Leader, running a Home Ed group as well as providing cover on occasion for parties, holiday clubs and toddler clubs. She home educates her three children and loves to run, lift weights, wild swim, write and make amazing food when she gets the chance! Her ambition is to run the entirety of the Southwest Coast Path in one go.

Rachel Johnston
HR Administrator

Rachel supports the day-to-day running and administration of The Outdoors Group’s activities. She is an outdoors and nature enthusiast with a degree in Animal Behaviour and Ecology and Conservation. She has previously worked for the Woodland Trust supporting their team of volunteers, and in the Fundraising team for the organic food and farming charity, the Soil Association. Rachel enjoys getting outdoors – hiking/running/cycling etc, and going on adventures.

Catherine McGrane
Finance & Facilities and Procurement Administrator

Catherine supports day-to-day administrative tasks for The Outdoors Group, mostly focusing on supporting Finance, Facilities and Procurement and Estates. She has previously worked in the Children’s Services sector of the local authority, where she built up most of her administrative knowledge and experience. Catherine enjoys spending her free time camping and catching up with friends and family.

Liz Slade
Forest Schools Administrator & Directors' Support

Liz is the PA to the directors and the Forest School administrator. She has 15 years experience in education working with children from Kindergarten to Sixth Form including assisting with Forest School in a primary school setting. A keen outdoors person she enjoys combining her love of photography with her running, cycling, walking and kayaking adventures.
