Nick is our Forest Schools Manager, overseeing all of our Forest School provision, as well as managing Exmouth Forest School. Also known for his excellent ukulele and spoon carving skills, Nick works hard to bring magic into the forest for children and parents, encouraging them to get involved in activities and inspiring them to use their imaginations.
Kina is our customer experience officer, with a background in customer service through running a successful travel business. She enjoys exploring Dartmoor, travelling and spa days.
Jasmine’s background is in practical conservation where she worked as Ranger. She has the exciting role of Assistant Forest School Manager at Exmouth. Her interests include all wildlife watching and monitoring, but especially invertebrates!
Over the years, Debbie’s been a Brownie Guide Leader, a play leader at local toddler groups and a governor of the local primary. She worked as a childminder for more than 22 years in Okehampton. Debbie’s currently doing her Forest School Leadership Training and it’s wonderful having her on board, looking after our newest site.
Sarah is Site Lead at our new Ilfracombe site. She has been a Forest School Leader for over 7 years and has run her own outdoor learning business in Worcestershire. She particularly enjoys cooking up tasty treats over a campfire. With a recent move to the North Devon area she loves to spend her spare time exploring the beaches and rock pools with her family including two boys and the dog!
Melinda manages the Schools Outreach for The Outdoors Group. She organises for Forest school sessions to happen within mainstream school settings, and day trips to our woodlands for those schools who want a little taster of Forest School fun. She used to work at Heatree Activity Centre before having her own kids and joined TOG to help see the Tree Tots toddler clubs begin! She loves to sew and to bike ride, and can often be found sneaking off to the fabric shop to find bike printed fabrics for her next creation.
Our Manager, Fabrianne, joined the team after falling in love with the Forest School way of life when her little one attended Kindergarten. She started by volunteering with us before going on to do her Level 3 Forest School Leader training and Early Years Educator level 3. Fabrianne is passionate about supporting strong attachments, building confidence and self-esteem in the Kindergarteners. Her sunny disposition always brings a smile to our faces.
Previously a science instructor for after-school clubs, Chris fell in love with Forest School immediately upon starting his level 2 training with us in 2017. He has been with the company on first a voluntary, then a freelance basis since 2018. Now working as assistant manager for the Exeter site, Chris loves games of imagination, handicraft projects, and terrible jokes.
Seamo is a qualified Forest School Leader and specialises in Autism, Neurodiversity, sensory differences and pathological demand avoidance. Seamo brings a depth of SEN knowledge and practical skills to the Outdoors Group.
Ali has worked as a primary school teacher, specialising in Outdoor Education, for over 10 years. As a qualified Forest School instructor, he works as part of the Forest School Outreach team and also helps run the LBtC course with the adult training team. In his spare time Ali loves being outdoors, especially when it involves being on his kayak out at sea or walking and wild camping in Dartmoor.
A qualified teacher with a specialisation in Early Years, Rob is passionate about the concept that nature offers a classroom beyond the confines of four walls. As well as advocating and developing outdoor learning facilities during his time as a teacher he has also worked with Devon Wildlife Trust as an Environmental Education Officer encouraging young people to become more passionate about ecology and our local wild spaces.
Rachel joined the Kindergarten in 2019 and brings with her a wealth of experience having worked in Early Years for 20 years in a variety of roles & settings, including having four children of her own. Rachel lives near Sidmouth, enjoys walking the nearby footpaths and beaches and, has done some very long walks following the Jurassic Coast path to raise money for MIND. Rachel is also a Brownie and Scout leader – lots of fun and a chance to practice some forest school skills. Her enthusiasm in the kindergarten is contagious and she lifts our spirits even on the gloomiest of weathers!
