Job description

An opportunity has arisen for our team in Adult Provision to develop our team with the addition of another Trainer. We are looking for someone to deliver and assess our Forest School and Paediatric First Aid as well as collaborate in developing other First Aid qualifications, outdoor qualifications, and CPD sessions.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Working alongside other trainers to prepare for and run the day’s training
  • Running courses as a lead trainer and supporting assistants to meet their responsibilities
  • Sourcing and preparing materials for use during the course
  • Maintaining tools and equipment used for training courses
  • Stock check consumables and replenish stock when appropriate
  • Assessing learners linked to the courses we run in Adult Training
  • Assisting with administration for training courses
  • Working alongside the Internal Quality Assurance team to provide high-quality assessment and training
  • Revising and updating our Learning Platform for new training courses
  • Developing new training courses and CPDs for use within our company and externally.

This post requires a DBS check.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Reflectiveness and willingness to adapt to the needs of different training courses
  • Experience of fire-lighting and campfire management skills

Desirable

  • Recent experience delivering First Aid Training
  • Previous experience in Forest School/Outdoors settings

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Teaching and Learning Qualification (PGCE, BEd or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving license 
  • Willingness to complete necessary qualifications and training 
  • Proficient computer skills for using email, word processing, multimedia and learning platforms

  • First Aid at Work
  • First Aid – Outdoors/Forest School
  • First Aid – Paediatric
  • Safeguarding Level 2
