Half Term Day Camp is here!

After the huge success of the Summer Day Camps we are excited to announce that Half Term Day Camps will take place in the woods at Exmouth Forest School this October and will run for 4 consecutive days. Playing games, building relationships, nurturing and re-indulging our social needs and generally having a laugh with all our forest school favourites…no two days will be the same!
To ensure we are operating in accordance with the latest guidance from Boris, we have made a number of changes to ensure that we are offering the best service in the safest way possible.
Let’s talk bubbles; the biggest alteration to our norm, is that we will be operating in weekly ‘bubbles’. To enable this to happen, bookings are made for a whole running week, from Monday-Thursday 1000-1600.

Other safety measures

In order to ensure our provision  is within Covid-19 guidance from the government, a number of measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the children attending and our staff.

  • Parents can only book their child(ren) in for alternative weeks
  • Staff will work on a week on/week off basis
  • There will be increased handwashing and regular cleaning of surfaces
  • Drop offs and pick ups will be monitored to ensure parents are observing social distancing
  • No child or parent should visit the woods if they have, or have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of Covid-19
  • Staff will be viligant in recognising symptoms of covid-19 and have the right to isolate children displaying symptoms before requesting their parents collect them
  • Staff will sign children in on behalf of the parents
  • There will be increased space between the chidren at snack/lunch time and children will not be allowed to share food
  • Children will be briefed at the beginning of the day to promote good etiquette regarding personal space and distancing, although we don’t anticipate being able to guarantee that all attendees will stick to the 1-2 metre rule throughout the whole week.

“My daughter had the best time. It was the perfect antidote to lockdown, spending time feeling free in the woods and surrounded by children to play with. The organisation around COVID was the best I’ve experience anywhere to date. It was warm & welcoming but in a very structured, well managed way. The care from the forest leaders was second to none, my daughter went off happily every morning and didn’t want to leave in the afternoons!”

HMRC are now offering tax-free childcare to parents to help out with childcare costs over the summer holidays and we are happy to be able to accept payment this way as well! You can find out more about it here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/reduce-school-holidays-stress-with-help-for-childcare-costs

Please select TAX-FREECHILDCARE as the provider when booking.

Your child will need to bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, their own cup for hot chocolate (not breakable, i.e. plastic or metal) and have suitable clothing on – wellies and waterproofs when wet, long trousers and sturdy shoes when dry.

Sadly we are unable to offer discounts for Day Camps.

Our holiday clubs aim to provide children with an environment in which they are free to be themselves, meet new friends and socialise whilst engaging in fun forest school activities. We aim to be as inclusive as possible, and strive to provide all children with the right to engage in a session that promotes success and happiness through exploration and play. It is however separate provision from our term time activities, including the 1:1 programmes and The Outdoors School and therefore requires that children are able to attend without their parent/guardian and have a level of independence that does not require close supervision or assistance outside of what we would typically expect. If your child is registered with us on a 1:1 programme, please contact us prior to booking to discuss the suitability of these groups. In some cases where qualified staff are available, we may be able to provide 1:1 support during holiday clubs. If you think this is a likely requirement you will need to email hello@outdoorsgroup.co.uk with your enquiry.
