Do you want to bring your class out to the woods for a day of woodland based activities?
We offer all sorts of activity days for local schools based on Forest School principles at one of our beautiful woodland sites.
We can tailor the sessions to any age group. Our focus is on learning through exploration and discovery outdoors. Here are some examples of themes we’ve explored with schools:
The Forest School experience
An insight into forest school: building dens, creativity, teamwork, exploring the woodland, games, campfires and child-led fun.
Team building day (with links to the curriculum if required)
Develop a sense of achievement within a team, bring attendees closer through activities that engage groups, encourage cooperation and a shared sense of fun through challenge.
Bushcraft survival day
For smaller groups who would like to develop more advanced skills: tool work, camp craft, fire lighting and survival skills, utilising the outdoors.
Themed days for younger groups
Focusing on favorite themes and linking this to fun creative activities. Stickman, The Gruffalo, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and more. Crafts, treasure-hunts and discovery.
The above sessions are priced at £150 for a half day (9.30am-12.30pm) or £225 for a full day (9.30-3pm). Prices subject to VAT.
These are just some examples. For more information and to discuss your requirements please fill in the form at the bottom of the page, or email us on hello@outdoorsgroup.co.uk and we can talk through options and themes.

The team at Exeter Outdoors (now The Outdoors Group) have played a crucial part in the development of outdoor learning at Blundell’s Prep. Their support and guidance has enabled us to create an exciting programme for our children to fully explore the outdoors, and they have also been on hand to offer insight and training for all of our staff. In short, they have been fantastic! – Andy Southgate, Headteacher
The Exeter Outdoors(now TOG) staff were superb – incredibly knowledgable, very approachable, and able to strike up a rapport with my group instantly. The other immediately obvious characterisitic about the Exeter Outdoors (now TOG) staff was their passion for the outdoors, together with their desire to share this passion through passing on their knowledge and skills.
We wanted to say a massive thank you for our fantastic trip. The children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves outside in the fresh air, gaining confidence and getting dirty! The activities that you delivered were pitched to their level and we saw some different sides to some children that we would never have seen in the classroom which was great to spot. Our children bloomed in the outdoors environment.
Our children are loving a Exmouth Forest School, so much so that we have signed up for the whole year! We have a very productive, active and fun afternoon session on a weekly basis. The children are encouraged to explore the woodland and they cooperate with each other to complete various activities and challenges.
As a school we eagerly embarked on our Forest School journey under the excellent guidance and support of Melinda three years ago. We ensure that every year group gets to experience all that the well-tailored sessions have to offer. Melinda liaises closely with the teaching staff to ensure that the activities planned meet the needs of each unique class and if she can in any way link the activities to their current topic. The children are always excited when it’s their turn and we love the continuity from repeating our annual programme. This means that all the children get to develop their skills and learn new ones to add to their life skills repertoire. The block sessions that culminate in the whole day trip are a fantastic way of developing our children to be resilient, to take risks, to work as a team and to most of all go out of their comfort zone. Our Year 6 children regularly mention their memories of forest school during their leaver’s speeches.
To have access to outdoor education within their curriculum and opportunities to learn in outdoor spaces. We work with a range of schools to create this opportunity.
We understand that students learn differently. That’s why we create bespoke sessions that are inclusive of students who may not thrive within a classroom setting.
We establish a relationship with students and teachers within the schools we work with, to support their ongoing development and offer advice and outdoor education consultancy.
