Cycle route from Exmouth

Starting from Phear Park in Exmouth cycle away from the tennis courts to the far left of the park. As you near the far side of the park you come to a path which crosses your path. TURN LEFT along the path. Cycle along the path for about half a mile and at the end of the path TURN RIGHT on to Bradham Lane.

Cycle 100 yards to the end of the road and TURN LEFT AND THEN TURN SECOND RIGHT (after 50 yards) along Littleham Road. Cycle along Littleham Road and follow the road around to the right as it runs on to Cranford Ave, then TURN FIRST LEFT up Jarvis Close.

Cycle to the end of Jarvis Close and then continue along the path straight in front of you. This is the start of the old railway line which is now a cycle path. Cycle along the path and after 150 yards it takes you straight across Littleham Road.

You now cycle along the tree lined trail as it takes you out of Exmouth along the route of the old railway line towards Knowle. As you leave the suburbs of Exmouth the trail takes you under Capel Lane and into open countryside.

After about 1 mile you pass under the bridge for Castle Lane and a little further on under the bridge for the B1378 from Budleigh Salterton. Another quarter mile will bring you to a gate on the left hand side which is signposted for a vinery. Go through the gate and about 50 feet in there is a trail going left, up the hill to our site.

Okehampton Forest School

Moyses Lane, Okehampton, Devon EX20 1JS

At the moment, we don’t have a car park – but it is easy to find on-street parking in the residential area along, and off, Moyses Lane.

If you take the orange route onto Moyses Lane (see pic, this is along New Rd, rather than coming from High Street), halfway up the hill there is a gate on the left with an Okehampton Forest School sign outside (this leads to path you’ll walk down). Keep driving on road (past gate) and park in the residential area at top of hill. Then you’ll need to walk back down to the gate. Go through the gate and follow the lane until you reach the camp. (It’s about a 5 min walk up the lane through woods. Just keep left, following the path, and you’ll arrive in camp. It is buggy-friendly if your buggy is ok on tracks).

If you come from the high street [yellow route], find on-street parking in the residential area, then walk down the hill (past big house on left/Prospect Hill turning/sign saying ‘Watch out for Children’). Look out for The Okehampton Forest School sign on the right and the gate which takes you down the path to the Forest School (5 min walk along path through woods, see above).
