A beautiful Forest School site on the outskirts of Exmouth. Explore our activity and training sessions for all ages.

Choose from our range of exciting outdoor based activities and training at Exmouth Forest School

We are based in the heart of the Clinton Devon Estate in a beautiful woodland adjacent to Dalditch Common; an area of outstanding natural beauty. Exmouth Forest School was created by a passionate team of trained Forest School Leaders who set up our sister Forest School, Exeter Forest School.

Manager of Exmouth Forest School, Nick Murphy, came to East Devon in 2004 to embark on a degree in Music. It was here that he met and lived with Chris White (Exeter Forest School) who inspired Nick to work with his love of the outdoors and share it for the benefit of others. Soon after completing his studies, Nick was volunteering at various events, which in turn led to him becoming a qualified Forest School Practitioner, opening our Exmouth site in 2014.

Our Exmouth site offers the ideal setting for our Forest School activities. Leeford Woods is a large area of predominantly Spruce Woodland, offering the original Scandinavian Forest School feel.

Situated at the top of Salterton Road, it is an idyllic setting just minutes from Exmouth and its surrounding towns. We also have access from the cycle path to Budleigh, allowing you to have a totally carbon neutral day out.

Forest School is all about reconnecting with your natural surroundings, building confidence through traditional activities and team-work. Our Toddler Clubs, Home Ed sessionsHoliday Clubs and Birthday Parties will get you and your children outdoors, smiling and learning.

We are very grateful to Clinton Devon Estates for the opportunity to use their land for Exmouth Forest School. It has been a pleasure working with John Wilding, who sees our partnership as a wonderful way to carry on Clinton Devon Estates’ excellent work in connecting communities with the countryside.

My name is ‘Melinda Mole’ and I manage the Schools Outreach for The Outdoors Group. This means I organise for Forest school sessions to happen within mainstream school settings, and day trips to our woodlands for those schools who want a little taster of Forest School fun. I used to work at Heatree Activity Centre before having my own kids, and I joined TOG to help see the Tree Tots toddler clubs begin! I also love to sew and to bike ride, and am often found sneaking off to the fabric shop to find bike printed fabrics for my next creation.

As a qualified Forest School instructor, he works as part of the Forest School Outreach team and also helps run the LBtC course with the adult training team. In his spare time Ali loves being outdoors, especially when it involves being on his kayak out at sea or walking and wild camping in Dartmoor.
