We are looking to grow our Marketing Team and an opportunity has arisen for a Digital Marketing Officer. If you live and breathe digital marketing, we want to talk to you! You will be an integral part of the Marketing Team working closely with the Marketing Manager to execute marketing strategy and driving business acquisition through a range of digital channels.
As Digital Marketing Officer you will develop, implement, track and optimise our digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels including; SEO/SEM, web, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.
You should have proven background in a similar role and a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution, You will need be creative, data driven and most importantly a team player.
You will be able to work truly flexibly with a combination of home and office-based working with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues.

Job Description

Marketing Manager

Job Purpose

This role is a full time position (37.5 hrs) working truly flexibly with a combination of home and office-based (Crediton) working with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues.
As Digital Marketing Officer you will develop, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.

You should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. As Digital Marketing officer you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to launch and manage customer acquisition and retention campaigns on time and on budget and in line with the marketing strategy and business objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities

Website: Managing our CMS; working closely with our Content Officer and Customer Experience Officer ensuring content is up to date and on brand; user journey is clear; the website is visually attractive and user friendly; the performance of content is measured against clear KPI’s.
Design, build and maintain our social presence. – developing a distinct online presence by attracting high numbers of internet followers through social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Search engine optimisation (SEO) – developing strategies to increase the number of visitors to our website by achieving high-ranking placements in search results.
Online advertising including google ads and social – Coordinating Pay-Per-Click advertising, online advertising, regularly reviewing and amending keywords and ad groups to optimise performance. In addition, you will maintain our presence on third party sites, keeping all messaging current.
Email Marketing: Plan and manage a regular schedule of email marketing activity, growing our subscriber base and creating engaging, relevant content including testing to optimise results.
Marketing Strategy and Business Objectives; work closely with the marketing manager and the rest of the marketing team to ensure that all digital marketing activity is aligned with overall marketing strategy and business objectives.
Reporting: Monitor, report and analyse results to improve performance, using tools such as Google analytics and others, so that amendments and improvements can be made where appropriate.
Database: managing the contact database and ensuring we are GDPR compliant
Best Practice: Keeping up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement. Undertaking any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
You are expected to be aware of and adhere to all policies and procedures for The Outdoors School/Group.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • the capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects
  • Attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, WooCommerce, )
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience in an education or outdoor learning setting
  • Experience in optimising landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience using canva, adobe or similar

Qualifications & Training
  • Degree in marketing or related field or minimum 2 year’s experience in a similar role
